MonoDuty vs Grafana Cloud IRM
If responders already investigate inside Grafana, evaluate the value of keeping response beside that context. If your problem is a smaller set of HTTP, heartbeat and webhook signals, evaluate the focused MonoDuty route against the same delivery test.

Make the decision around your team’s work
Replacing Grafana OnCall OSS
Treat Cloud IRM as a separate deployment and product decision. An existing OSS configuration does not prove feature, authentication or export parity. Inventory routing templates, integrations, schedules and communication paths before you choose either target.
Alerts originate in Grafana
Keep enough alert context to reproduce the investigation: dashboard link, affected service and runbook. Validate how a repeated firing or resolved event maps to the same incident. When targeting MonoDuty, inspect the sender's payload contract rather than assuming a generic webhook is compatible.
Understanding the bill
Grafana's active IRM users and platform fee use a different model from a nominal user count. Apply the current billing definition to the people who will actually use IRM and include other Cloud consumption separately. A zero in the free allowance is not a zero-cost observability platform.

MonoDuty
Focused monitoring, incident alerting and on-call ownership.
- Paid entry
- Pro: $9/user/month, up to 25 users. Business: $19/user/month. Paid subscriptions are sales-assisted. Source
- Free scope
- One user; email notifications; 50 incidents/month and 7-day history. Source
- Delivery and limits
- Pro includes 500 SMS and 200 voice notifications/month; Business 2,000 SMS and 500 voice. Confirm destinations and channel availability. Source
- Schedules
- Team schedules with time zones, rotation layers and temporary overrides. Custom escalation policies require Pro or Business; repeated execution is not implemented. Source
- Response workflow
- Incident acknowledgment and resolution are documented. Slack updates are one-way; responders act in MonoDuty or supported response paths. Source
- Monitoring
- HTTP/HTTPS checks run from Helsinki. This is a single-location monitoring worker. Source
Ask during the trial: Require a real missed-acknowledgment test, quota checks and an exit export. Do not assume mobile push, chat-side response actions or repeating escalation loops.

Grafana Cloud IRM
On-call and incident response within Grafana Cloud.
- Paid entry
- Pro starts at $20/active IRM user, with a $19/month platform fee including three active IRM users; volume discounts apply. Source
- Free scope
- Free is limited to three active IRM users/month with community support. Source
- Response workflow
- Cloud IRM combines on-call management and incident response and works with Grafana Cloud observability. Source
- Cost checks
- Active users are a billing unit, not simply the size of a rotation. Observability consumption is separate. Source
Ask during the trial: Use the active-IRM-user definition, include the platform fee, and separate Cloud IRM from the retired Grafana OnCall OSS project.

What to prove in the trial
- Send a sanitized firing, repeat and resolved alert from the intended Grafana integration.
- Verify dashboard and runbook context on the recipient's device.
- Test the override, escalation and fallback route at a time-zone boundary.
- Reconcile active IRM usage with the quote and export the migration inventory.
Use synthetic events and agreed test recipients. Keep the current paging route active while you gather evidence, then rehearse rollback before cutover.

Choose up to three. Filters show documented workflow scope, sometimes on higher plans. An omitted match means this inventory has not established the requirement. Your choices, prices and evidence stay in this browser; save a dated result below.

All values are USD. These are editable planning estimates. A base price does not prove feature parity. Blank extra costs remain unknown; taxes, negotiated discounts and migration effort are excluded. Twelve-month totals are a projection, not an annual contract quote.
