Terms of use

Draft, pending legal review. This terms of use states our actual positions and practices, but it has not yet been reviewed by a qualified adviser. The few highlighted values below are decisions that review has to settle — chiefly the governing law, the liability wording and the content licence. Everything else on this page is final and accurate.

These terms govern your use of oncall.fyi, including its guides, assessments, calculators, templates, migration resources, downloads, and share features. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

Informational and planning service

oncall.fyi provides educational information and planning aids. It is not an emergency service, paging guarantee, managed incident-response service, certification body, audit opinion, or substitute for professional legal, employment, tax, payroll, security, safety, or compliance advice.

No operational guarantee

A score, policy, checklist, export, or recommendation does not guarantee that an alert will be delivered, acknowledged, escalated, or resolved. Before production depends on a workflow, verify ownership, access, contact methods, integrations, notification permissions, fallback paths, and evidence through a controlled test.

Your responsibility

  • Deciding whether an output fits your systems, contracts and jurisdiction
  • Obtaining approvals
  • Testing safely
  • Protecting credentials and confidential data
  • Keeping source-of-truth schedules and policies current
  • Not using a planning score as the sole basis for employment or disciplinary decisions
  • Maintaining backups and rollback plans
  • Following third-party terms and trademark rules

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Attempt unauthorised access
  • Disrupt, overload or probe the service outside authorised security research
  • Upload malware or harmful content
  • Enter data you lack permission to process
  • Use share links to expose secrets or personal data
  • Scrape or systematically reproduce the site contrary to applicable terms
  • Misrepresent affiliation, endorsement or certification
  • Remove open-source notices from reused materials
  • Use the service to facilitate unlawful or harmful conduct

Templates and content licence

The licence position is not final and must be chosen before launch. The intended shape is: site editorial copy remains the copyright of Monoduty OÜ unless otherwise stated; public templates carry a permissive licence; original code assets carry a permissive open-source licence; third-party components keep their own licences; and the brand, wordmark and logos are not licensed for misleading use.

Pending decisions: [editorial content licence — pending], [template licence — pending], [code licence — pending]. Until the chosen licence files are actually present in the repository, nothing here is described as open source or openly licensed.

User-provided feedback

When you send a correction or suggestion, you allow us to use it to improve the service. Do not send confidential material. This does not transfer ownership of material you do not have authority to license.

Third-party services

We link to vendors and use external providers. Their products, availability, prices, terms and practices can change. A link or comparison does not necessarily mean endorsement. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners; references here are for identification and comparison based on dated public information.

MonoDuty relationship

oncall.fyi is created by the team behind MonoDuty. That relationship is disclosed because MonoDuty may appear as one option where its focused product scope fits. Educational outputs do not require a MonoDuty purchase.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, retire or correct features and content. We aim to preserve useful exports and redirects, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability.

Disclaimer and liability

The service and its content are provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or any incident outcome. Mandatory consumer and statutory rights are not excluded.

Liability limits are deliberately not copied from a generic template and require qualified review against the actual governing law and business model: [liability and cap wording — pending]. Any paid workshops or reports would receive separate commercial terms.
