MTTA

GlossaryWritten by Burak YReviewed by Burak YLast reviewed 3 September 2026

Mean time to acknowledge; the average time between notification and recorded ownership. MTTA measures the delivery and human-response path rather than the quality of the response, so it improves when notifications reach people reliably and degrades when channels, permissions or devices fail. It says nothing about whether the page was worth sending.

In practice

A team halves its MTTA by fixing do-not-disturb permissions on responders' phones. The same change makes no difference to how long incidents take to resolve.
